Funke Adenodi Akinbuli
Founder & Executive Director

Ms. Akinbuli in addition to her role in Exodus has been a community activist for more than 15 years.  She has been involved with causes such as homelessness, poverty, HIV/AIDS, refugee support, and more.  In 2005, she was motivated to legitimize her activism in Exodus.  Ms. Akinbuli has a Bachelors Degree in Paralegal Studies and a Masters in Urban Affairs both from Boston University.  In addition to running the day-to-day activities of Exodus, she holds a full-time position as a Fiscal Policy Manager in Boston. She focuses her energy on the disenfranchised and maintains a commitment to mobilize for the world's largest minority group.


Bonike Odegbami
President of the Board
Ms. Odegbami in addition to being the Board President for the Exodus Guild
serves on several boards.  Her commitment to education and particularly special education is a driving force for how she participates in Exodus.  Currently, she serves as the Campus President of Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) Eastern Campus, located in Detroit, Michigan. She obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Psychology and went on to complete her PhD studies in Education.  Ms, Odegbami is an agent of change!

Segun Adeyina
Board Member 
Mr. Adeyina is the President of NRC Group, the company responsible for the annual Nigerian Reunion.  For more than 20years, Mr. Adeyina has maintained an active presence and commitment within the United States African Diaspora.  His ability to leverage the strengths within the community has guided his success.  Mr. Adeyina holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and a Masters Degree in Management Information Systems.  He currently works as a Project Manager for Hewlett-Packard (hp) in Michigan.  Mr. Adeyina is a staunch advocate for humanity.

Benjamin Freedman

Disability Advisor

Mr. Freedman is the Exodus  founding Board advisor.  He brings over 10 years of professional experience in the world of disabilities. His concentration has been centered on children and youth with learning and emotional disabilities as well as severe developmental disabilities and autism.  In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Freedman is a Magna cum Laude graduate from Long Island University with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and has furthered his education with a Certification in Human Resources from Cornell University. 


Lanre Awesu

Health Care Advisor (Nigeria)

Mr. Awesu in addition to his work with the Exodus Guild serves as a consultant for several organizations in Nigeria on Public Health issues.  He is the executive director and Health reporter for the Solid Youth Foundation of Nigeria (SIYOFON) an HIV/AIDS campaign organization.  Mr. Awesu joined Exodus in late 2007 and has become an integral part of our work in Nigeria.

Yinka Adenodi

Disability Advisor

Mr. Adenodi in addition to his advisory role in Exodus, maintains a full-time position at PARI Independent Living Center, where he coordinates the Rhode Island State habilitation waiver program for people with brain injury.  He also is a social technique therapist for children with mental retardation and developmental disabilities, including autism.  Mr. Adenodi studied Psychology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and at Rhode Island College, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  He brings a wealth of expertise to our cause.
