2008

TEAM EXODUS!

 

 

2008 has been a wonderfully productive year.  The Board of Directors thank our donors, team of volunteers, and sponsors for making this year one to remember.  Highlights of our 2008  activities are shown below.  Now, we look forward to an interesting 2009.  Happy New Year!

Safeway:

School Supplies & Holiday Party Program

 

December 18 - Safeway

Safeway Nursery & Primary School (& Day Care) is an inclusive school which caters to children with and without disability.  Additionally, the Safeway Founder, (Mommy Folajoke) lives with a physical disability.  With this program, Exodus was able to convey her holiday wishes to the students and teachers as she always wanted.

New Oko Oba:

School Supplies & Holiday Party Program

December 16 - New Oko Oba

New Oko Oba is an inclusive school for those living with and without disability.  At New Oko Oba, the education of students is integrated and placements into class is determined by the mental capacity of a student for the specific curriculum.

Atunda-Olu is a state school that caters to the educational needs of those living with physical disability are educated.

Exodus in collaboration with the Society for Family Health organization conducted an awareness rally through the streets of Lagos, Nigeria.

Disability & Stigma: The African Perspective
A Case Study of Down's Syndrome
 

Exodus conducted a case-study, that, once complete will inform on the African Perspective of Disability and Stigma.  Ms. Akinbuli presented the findings from this case study in May 2008 at the University of Massachusetts - Boston, Women in Politics and Public Policy 2008 presentation series.
